André Breton

 

Born 19 February 1896 in Tinchebray (Orne), France.
Died 28 September 1966 in Paris.

Writer associated with the Dada movement in Paris, and later with the Surrealist movement.

The International Dada Archive has extensive holdings of works by and about Breton.

Dada/Surrealism, no. 17 (1988) was a special Breton number, reprinted as André Breton Today (New York: Willis Locker & Owens, 1989). This special number includes "André Breton: A Selective Bibliography, 1971-1988" by Rudolf E. Kuenzli (pp. 129-45).
